Veggie Curry With Heart

I received a text from my mum the other night that read 'can't stop thinking about the yummy Indian we had'. Strange? Well not in this case. A vegetarian curry that makes you go home and try and recreate your own is an indication of a meal with a lot of love, and Bombay Aloo (located on Ship Street) provides just that.

Not only are you able to indulge in a great selection of homemade vegetarian wonders but an ALL YOU CAN EAT buffet will set you back a mere £4.50, and only £3.50 if you go between the times of 3.15 and 5.15pm on a weekday. Now as a newly converted vegetarian the words all you can eat buffet certainly seem like a surprise to me. Already I'm starting to think this may be easier than I had anticipated.

If you're worried about being starved for choice then you're still in luck. Expect all the regular favourites with a selection of 6 different dishes and even all the sides to match. My personal favourites are the Tarka Dall and Chickpeas Aloo but without a limit on how much you pile up your plate why not try everything? Or if you're not the biggest curry fan you could even get a whole plate of onion bhajees. Even the mango chutney tastes like its been made with care and on one occasion we were even brought out a plate of freshly baked naan bread! If you're still concerned about the price then there's a trusty loyalty card that will get you the 10th meal free. Here seems to be a place that really cares about its customers which makes it no wonder that you're left thinking about it for days afterwards - just try not to lose too much sleep.

  1. Now I'm hungry... at an ungodly hour! *Winks* Not very many East Indian Restaurants around these parts, so it is a cuisine I haven't had a great deal of experience sampling... but what I have had, has been delish!

    1. It's always worth trying to make some yourself, some of the best Indian food I have had recently has actually been made by my friends! Making loads of different dishes and sitting down together is such a nice way to spend time and often seems to beat a trip to a restaurant :)
