Early Morning Musings

University seems to have the ability to challenge you continuously - both in everyday hurdles but also in the ways you think and approach things, your general outlook and perspective. What becomes apparent is that the ever changing environment that you find yourself in has the potential to sculpt and mould you in ways that you may not ever be entirely conscious of.

My over analytical nature and tendency to read into every small occurrence in my life means that I find myself being aware of things that may not even truly exist. There is a sense that my mind has the capacity to manifest imaginings that are in fact not placed in reality in the slightest. What I'm finding is that occasionally its good to step back, to not allow the doubts and anxieties that exist everyday to monopolise your thoughts. Instead to find joy in the intricacies of the world that present themselves each day with so little as a breath of recognition. My mind comes tracing back to the oh so dreamy Ferris Bueller and his acknowledgement that 'Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.' Then again, maybe Frances Ha had it more accurate - 'I sound stoned... I'm not stoned.'
